Corn on the cob is the perfect side dish, it can go with chicken, fish, steak and more but it is also wonderful all on its own! Yes, buttery, spicy, sweet, juicy, tender and crisp corn on the cob is just heaven!
You don't need to slave over a hot grill or get the bbq out and cleaned ready to make the perfect buttery corn. It also doesn't have to be summer to indulge in hot, juicy corn.
The best way to get that juicy, succulent, tasty, crisp, tender, sweetcorn on the cob is to bake the corn in the oven.
There are a few tips that will give you the best results ... you can thank me for this after you have taken a bite of that delicious, buttery sweetcorn! π
Tips to making The Best Oven-Baked Corn on the Cob!Β
Tip number 1Β
Use fresh corn on the cob and remove the husks and silks before wrapping them in foil or aluminium.
This way you are guaranteed the juiciest corn with kennels that are bursting full of sweetness and they are also easy to serve!
Tip number 2
To make the corn full of flavour simply top the corn with a good knob of butter, a squeeze of lime juice and a good dash of paprika, onion and garlic salt and dried chilli flakes.
When the corn has cooked, top with parmesan cheese, coriander and an extra squeeze of lime juice.
Tip number 3
Oven bake the corn cobs wrapped in individual foil parcels.
The foil parcels keeps the moisture and heat in and really helps to give you juicy and tender corn that has not dried out!
Opening the little individual foil parcels are just like getting your own gift of sunshine.... I know ...sounds 'corny' right?? Β πΒ (I couldn't resist putting in at least one corn-y joke! π)Β
How to make the Best Oven-Baked Corn On The Cob!
- Pre-heat the oven to 180ΒΊC or 350ΒΊF - moderate oven
- Remove the husks and silks and lay down the corn cobs on a piece of aluminium foil. One cob for one piece of foil.
- Sprinkle the corn with Β paprika, onion and garlic salt, some of the dried chilli flakes and a squeeze of lime and then top with a teaspoon of butter for each corn. (If wanting to be a bit healthier, you could also use olive oil or reduce the amount of butter)
- Cover the corn with the foil to make the foil parcels - so the butter won't seep out,
- Bake in the oven for 30 mins or till the corn is tender.
- Carefully open the foil and while the corn is warm, sprinkle over the parmesan cheese, some more of the dried chilli flakes, Β squeeze over the lime and add the coriander on top.
Keep in the foil when serving as this will keep the corn warm and melt the parmesan cheese.
- 4 corn on the cob
- 4 teaspoons of butter
- onion salt
- ground paprika
- dried chilli flakes
- ¼ cup of parmesan cheese
- fresh coriander leaves
- 1 lime cut into wedges
